KCMBA Membership Applications

With the exception of the Student Membership, all KCMBA memberships are based on the calendar year. KCMBA has six membership classifications. Regular Membership - Any lawyer in good standing of any Bar in any State is eligible to be a Regular Member of the Association. Regular members must practice in or hold primary residence in at least one of the following counties: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Platte or Ray in Missouri and Johnson or Wyandotte in Kansas.

Annual Dues: Based on year admitted to the bar.

Public/Government Member - Any lawyer who is solely employed by a local, state, or federal government agency. Public/Government Members receive all of the rights and privileges of membership and are extended a 25% discount on regular membership dues.

Affiliate Membership - Any lawyer in good standing of the Bar of any state who neither resides in nor practices in the counties of Jackson, Cass, Clay, Johnson, Lafayette, Platte and Ray in Missouri and Johnson or Wyandotte counties in Kansas, is eligible to be an Affiliate Member of the Association, but an Affiliate Member shall not be entitled to vote or to hold office in the Association. Annual dues: $50.00

Associate Membership - Any person who is not a member of the Missouri Bar or the Bar of any other state is eligible for Associate Membership in the Association provided that such person has demonstrated a legitimate interest in the promotion or accomplishment of the objects and purposes of the Association. Associate members have their name and company name only listed in the annual bar directory.

An Associate member is not entitled to vote or hold office in the Association, but may participate in Association activities including:
As a non-voting member of any standing committee
Continuing legal education programs
Community relation programs
Association sponsored insurance programs
Annual dues: $100.00

Sustaining Member - Those members whose financial commitment to the KCMBA rises above that which is required. In addition to assisting the KCMBA with its initiatives, Sustaining Members are recognized with their photo in the KCMBA Bar Directory and a tribute in the KC Counselor, as well as through specialized communication and events throughout the year.

Student Membership - Students at any accredited law school are eligible to be Student Members of the Association, however a Student Member shall not be entitled to vote or to hold office in the Association, but may serve as a non-voting member of any committee. Student members have their name only listed in the annual bar directory. Annual dues: $20.00
