Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) is a non-profit, professional voluntary member organization. As a service to members, the annual Bar Directory is published including both member and non-member contact information. Because some attorneys within the greater Kansas City area have elected to opt-out of inclusion in the directory, the fact that a particular attorney is NOT listed in the directory does not mean that they are not practicing attorneys. The Directory is a compilation work protected by U.S. and international copyright laws and other applicable laws, and is owned solely by the KCMBA.  

The Directory is compiled from records maintained in the KCMBA database. Each year, a Bar Directory update form is sent to firms and individuals in the database with a request to return the form if a correction is necessary. By completing the individual form, the attorney acknowledges that the information will be used to compile the Directory and will also be used as a list of members and potential members for purposes of advising and soliciting participation in Association activities. Any attorney who does not wish to receive these notices (e-mail, facsimile or mail), has the right to OPT-OUT by contacting KCMBA.

The KCMBA Bar Directory is the exclusive property of KCMBA. The information contained in the directory is confidential and proprietary. No one shall reproduce, disclose, or disseminate any such information without the express written consent of KCMBA. Further, no one shall use the member information contained in the directory to solicit members for any other commercial purposes.

Your use and access to the Directory is subject to the following conditions:

1. Except for your own personal, internal use to locate or contact a practicing attorney, you may not republish, resell, transfer, duplicate, create derivative works from, or otherwise make any use of the information provided in the directory.

2. You may not, under any circumstance, use any of the information in the Directory to engage in activity that violates the privacy, publicity or other personal rights of others.

3. The Directory is provided “as is” and KCMBA makes no express or implied warranties of any kind for the accuracy and quality of information provided.

4. In the event that you violate any of the provisions of this agreement, or make any claim against the KCMBA, you agree to indemnify, defend at your sole cost and expense, and hold the KCMBA harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, expenses (including actual attorneys’ fees), or losses KCMBA may incur as a result of your breach of this Terms of Use Statement. 

5. Any person may OPT-OUT of inclusion in the KCMBA database and publication in the next and future Bar Directories by contacting Member Services at (816) 474-4322 or by e-mailing the Association at kcmba.info@kcmba.org.
