Judicial Evaluations As a service to the public, The Missouri Bar, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, conduct a statewide Judicial Evaluation Survey of all merit-selected judges who will be standing in retention elections. Attorneys who file cases in circuit, associate circuit and appellate courts are asked to evaluate judges up for retention on the following characteristics:
These qualities are rated on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being poor and 5 excellent. Attorneys are also asked if they feel the judge should be retained. The results are compiled in a booklet, "Voters Information About Judges," which is available by calling The Missouri Bar at (800) 829-4128, via The Missouri Bar Web site at www.mobar.org, or at area courthouses and libraries. This project is done every two years. |
